At DataGalaxy, we aim to reduce manual effort for users while enhancing catalog completeness. To achieve this, we are introducing AI-powered description and summary generation.
How It Works
For Data Stewards ?: Our AI can generate descriptions and summaries for objects. If there isn’t enough context, no description is generated. For multilingual clients, we also provide automatic translations.
For Data Readers ?: Readers can view AI-generated descriptions and report any inaccuracies when needed.
How a steward can use autogeneration?

To see if your data catalog can be adjusted using an AI-generated description or summary for an object, simply press the Autodescription button next to the relevant attribute.
If our AI can generate a high-confidence description, it will appear as a suggestion.
The proposed suggestion can be reviewed by user and accepted or rejected.
If the suggestion needs to be modified, you can do it after the acception.

If you want to check if other versions of the description can be generated or report the suggestions, use the Autodescription menu for the relevant attribute:

If the suggestion is far from your expectations or you consider it to be incorrect, please report this suggestion. It will help our AI to adjust.
How a reader can profit from autogeneration?
A reader can benefit from autogeneration as it allows to increase the catalog completeness. In addition. user can also report the generated description and help with further improvements.
When do we propose the suggestions?
We want to ensure that only trustful suggestions are proposed. Thus, the suggestion is generated using the information about an object neighbourhood. If there are the related objects (parents, children or other linked objects) and we can find at least 1 described object for each of 2 different link type, we generate the desctiption (for example, an object has a parent object and linked object with descriptions).
If you updated your objects, check if any new descriptions can be generated.
